Chapter 10
RED
I hadn’t been home since the day I left Mia standing on our porch after her fight with my mama and Monie. Mia has been blowing me up but I refuse to answer any of her calls. I’m sure she thinks this is about the shit that happened at my Ol’ G’s crib and her flipping out in the car but she was way off. I wasn’t sweating her little attitude. I stayed way intentionally the first few days but now I was laying low trying to regroup after the shootout at the club.
I could have gone home and been cool there since few people know where I laid my head but I didn’t. Nobody would think to look for me in the old house I used to trap out of and I was enjoying spending time with my seed and Monie even though she hasn’t said shit to me.
That nigga Killa walked around as if he was God himself and couldn’t be touched. Chicago was big enough for everybody to eat but that nigga wanted to be greedy. He was nothing but a has-been to me. He forfeited the right to my territory when he and his crew abandoned shit.
I saw a gold mine. Like a true hustler, I moved in on it. Killa thought I would bow down and hand over my empire because he was back. Fuck him! He would have to kill me if he wanted it or die trying to take it from me. I wasn’t like those weak niggas from the Southside. I refused to starve while he ate like a king.
My problem was that I underestimated him. I didn’t count on so many niggas still being loyal to a nigga who had been gone for the last three years. Killa proved me wrong when he started knocking off my men left and right and the ones he wasn’t killing turned sides.
Every time I made a hit, he came back harder. I couldn’t win for shit with this nigga. I knew he had been following me and looking to catch me slipping. I used that to my advantage and flipped the tables on him. I paid Zoey ten stacks to get him alone and make sure he came back with an empty clip. To say she didn’t disappoint would have been and understatement. The look on his face when he realized I had the upper hand was priceless. I wished I had caught it on camera.
Javi had to fuck it all up by jumping in the way of the bullets meant for his brother. I had the nigga and I still couldn’t take him down. I had no information on Javi or Kam. I didn’t know who I hit but I definitely hit someone. When I saw the puddle of blood in the spot where Kam was previously standing, I prayed that it was him and not Javi. The streets weren’t saying shit about either of them and I was getting anxious. Still, I made sure to spend the couple of days after the shooting dicking Zoey down real good.
